JOB DESCRIPTION: Plant Manager

For the continued growth of the *** worldwide business requires a dedicated and proven leader able to work closely with all business functions and Chinese employees as plant manager based in Suzhou/Wujiang, China.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for plant manufacturing operations including production planning, on-time delivery, quality, shop floor management, production equipment鈥檚 update and maintenance.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Duties:

         Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations which ensure the most effective return on assets.

         Initiative plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.

         Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports ***鈥檚 corporate strategic initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

         Assure attainment of business objectives and productions schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers鈥 expectations.

         Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis.

         Encourage, coach and train use of best practice techniques and focus on fact based problem solving.

         Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes.

         Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume and shipment scheduling to allow for maximum return on efficiencies.

         Routinely update plant activities and KPI to site and corporate management team.

 

Employees Management:

         Assure that collective bargaining agreements are effectively administered and that employee grievances are addressed in a timely fashion.

         Work to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employees鈥 positive involvement with opportunity for construction input and action.

         Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.

         Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.

         Maintain individual skills keeping up to date with latest production and production management concepts.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

         4 year degree and above; technical field, preferred degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, and automation engineering.

         10 year experience in a high production and hard good manufacturing environment with 5 years of managerial experience.

         Strong leadership skills, strong in business ethics and moral, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential.

         A team player with good communication and inter-personal skills.

         Must be fluent in both English and Chinese.

         High energy level required.
